The SET Council in association with Richa Bajimaya Memorial Foundation is organizing the 8th SXC Cycle Rally on the 6th of March, 2021 with expected participants of around 800 in number. The Cycle Rally is also supported by Nepal Cycle Society. The theme for the Cycle Rally is “Ride against Cancer” as it aims to raise funds for treatment of cancer patients in Nepal. The cycle rally focuses on both social and environmental aspects of society.
While it contributes by raising funds for Cancer patients, it also motivates people to use cycles for travelling and creating a cycle-friendly
environment. Many residents of Kathmandu Valley are unaware of the construction of cycle lanes in the valley. Thus the event aims to promote the cycle lanes too. It is approximately a 25 km long cycle route which covers significant areas of Kathmandu and Lalitpur. Overall, this event focuses on creating a Cancer fear-free society and promoting cycling culture in the valley.
