How to create Khalti ID easily?

  • Open Khalti app on your smartphone or visit Khalti.com
  • Enter your Name, mobile number, email address and a password on the sign up form at the top-right corner of the page
  • Click on ‘Join’
  • You will get a verification code on the mobile number you entered
  • Enter the verification code
  • Once you enter the verification code, click on ‘Verify’
  • Your account will be created successfully

Can people living outside Nepal signup to Khalti? How do outsiders signup to Khalti? And can they book tickets?

No, people residing outside Nepal cannot sign up to Khalti, as they will need to sign up using cell phone number registered in Nepal.

Don’t worry. You amount is safe with us. If the amount has been successfully transferred, the amount will automatically be transferred to the respective person's account. In Case the transaction has failed, then the amount will be refunded back.

What is primary and secondary balance?

Primary balance is the fund you directly load using loading funds options whereas secondary balance is the cashback you receive from paying bills online.

Does secondary balance get accumulated?

Secondary balance does not get accumulated. Whenever payment is the amount from secondary balance is first reduced then from the primary balance. For instance a user has Rs 5 in his secondary balance and Rs 100 in his primary balance and the user is trying to topup mobile worth Rs 100.

In such case Secondary balance will be reduced by Rs 5 and primary balance will be reduced by Rs 95. Remaining balance in Primary Balance will be Rs 5 and Remaining Balance in Secondary Balance will be Rs 2 (2% cashback of Rs 100).

What is the overall maximum and minimum limit of transaction?

Minimum limit: Rs. 10 Maximum limit for KYC Verified users: Rs. 10,000 at a time, Rs. 25,000 in a day, and Rs. 50,000 in a month. Maximum limit for non-KYC verified users: Rs. 5000 (at a time or in a day), and Rs. 10,000 in a month.

So we have an account limit? What is the maximum amount I can store in my Khalti account?

Yes. There is a limit on how much you can hold on your Khalti account. For KYC Verified users, it's Rs. 50,000. For non-KYC verified users, it's Rs. 5,000 only.

Is there any expiry date for my Khalti account?

No, there is no expiry date for Khalti account.

What if I recharge / top up a wrong Khalti account by mistake?

Please check the number before making the transaction. Once you have made the transaction, Khalti will not be held responsible for the refund. You will have to contact the person yourself and get it refunded.

What if I have loaded money in a Khalti account that does not exist?

In such cases too, Khalti will not be able to refund the money. You will have to create a Khalti account with the same number in which you loaded money. Once you have done so your money will be reflected in the new Khalti account and you can then transfer the fund to your own Khalti account.

Do I have to pay certain fee for my recharge/bill payment?

No. We don’t charge any kind of fee to our customers done on our website khalti.com or app.

Do I have to login again after signing up from my device?

After you have signed up to Khalti, click on the option Keep me logged in. After doing this, you will not be asked to login every time you open Khalti app. We keep track of your login details.

How can I change my Khalti account password?

You can change your password from Settings option. To change your Khalti account password:

  • Go to Settings
  • Click on Change Password
  • Enter your Current Password
  • Enter your New Password, and re-enter the same new password in Confirm Password box
  • Click on Change

Your Khalti account password will be updated successfully.

I forgot my password. How can I set a new Khalti password?

If you forget your Khalti password, you can get new password easily. Please follow these simple steps:

  • On the login page, click on Forgot Password
  • Enter your mobile / email and click on Request Recovery Code
  • A recovery code will be sent to your mobile number registered with Khalti. Enter the recovery code and click on Verify code
  • Enter your New Password, and re-enter the same new password in Confirm Password box

Your new Khalti password will be set successfully.

How do I check my Account Balance?

After logging in your Khalti account, you can see your account balance at the top right corner of the screen.

I lost my phone. How do I block my account?

Feel free to email us at support@khalti.com and we will verify the user credentials and after the verification has been done, block your account immediately. In order to unblock the account, write to us again here and we will unblock it.

How do I change my registered phone number? How to I change my Khalti ID?

Go to the left slide sidebar of your app. Tap on User profile and then go to edit profile. Tap on change phone number. You will be further verified. After the verification has been done your number will be changed. Email us at support@khalti.com.

Can I save my bank details / card details in my Account?

No you cannot save bank details. You will be redirected to the respected banks page during every transaction.
