Mobile Banking


  • How do I load money to Khalti?
    To load money goto load money option in the app/ web Enter the amount and select Ebanking mode and complete the transaction
  • Why can’t I load money into my account through my bank account?
    Your bank account did not have adequate balance.
    Your internet connectivity was interrupted.
    The issuer bank’s network was down.
    Your monthly loading limit was breached.
    Ebanking not activated.
  • Does the money get loaded immediately to wallet?
    In case of e Banking the amount gets loaded immediately. In some cases it might get delayed due to internet connectivity, due to bank’s network. Do not panic. You money will be safe and will be loaded to your wallet within an hour. If your wallet balance is not updated after 30 minutes do contact us at support@khalti.com or call at 9802005017.
  • Money deducted from bank account but did not reflect in Khalti account
    In such cases please do not panic. Please check your internet connectivity and refresh you balance. If it does not show then this might be because of network problem while transaction or maybe because of the delay from bank’s server. In such cases, please wait for 30 minutes. If your wallet balance is not updated after 30 minutes do contact us at support@khalti.com or call at 9802005017.
  • Bank Transfer fees and other limits
    There is no bank transfer fees while loading funds from eBanking. As per NRB there are certain bank transfer limits applicable on Khalti. You can add upto Rs 5000 at a time, Rs 15,000 in a day and Rs 25,000 in a calendar month. However, as per your urgency you can load as much as you want but you cannot hold the amount in your wallet account. You need to spend it on the same day. If you fail to use that amount then your account might get locked. However, it mandatory for all users to fill up KYC (Know Your Customer) form to carry out transactions above Rs.5,000
  • I don’t know my username and password for eBanking. What do I do?
    eBanking username and password is the one that you receive while taking eBanking service from the bank. If you have done so and cannot remember or have lost the login credentials, please contact the associated bank where you have created your bank account.
  • While loading funds from Sunrise Bank Limited why don’t I see Khalti option in the list?
    In such cases make sure your app is updated. Once you have update the Sunrise Smart app and go to utility payments and select Khalti
  • While loading funds from MBL App to Khalti I see a blank page with a text ‘2018’
    This is an issue from bank’s end. Please contact the bank in such cases

    OTP (One Time Password) is a secure code to ensure that there are no fraudulent transactions. While transacting the bank sends an OTP to your personal email/ mobile number. (Remember if you have not taken or activated the messaging/ email service from the bank you will not be getting any OTP)

Card


  • How do I load via cards?
    To load via cards simply tap on load funds and go to Debit/ Credit Cards option. Now enter your card details like your card number, issued date and expiry date and your CVV number. Once you ahve entered the details you will receive an OTP for confirmation. Once you have confirmed your Khalti account will be loaded instantly.
  • Will be charged while loading Khalti via Cards?
    You will not be charged any amount while loading for the first three transactions. After that, for SCT cards, a service charge of 2% (maximum amount of Rs 25) will be levied after the first 3 transactions. And for all other cards, a service charge of 2% will be levied after the first 3 transactions
  • I tried loading Khalti via Card but it does not work. Why?
    This could be possibly because you are trying to load via SCT cards which are not activated for online transactions. Please make sure your card has been enabled for online payments by bank.
    It could also be due to:
    Your bank account did not have adequate balance.
    Your internet connectivity was interrupted.
    The issuer bank’s network was down.
    Your monthly loading limit was breached.
    Ebanking not activated.
  • How much amount can I load to Khalti at once while loading via cards?
    You can load a maximum amount of upto Rs 16,000 at once.
  • Does the money get loaded immediately to wallet?
    In case of loading via cards the amount gets loaded immediately. In some cases it might get delayed due to internet connectivity, due to bank’s network. Do not panic.   • Who is responsible to charge the amount for electricity bill payments?
    NEA itself determines the amount to be charged and Khalti has no role in determining or charging extra for the payments.
  • How long does it take for the bill details to appear?
    It depends on when the staffs from NEA come visit your doorstep. Once they have visited and taken the readings of your meter and entered it in their systems, the bill details will appear. It usually takes 1-2 working days.

Cash Deposit


  • Do I need a bank account to load fund via Banks?
    No, you don’t need a bank account to load fund through banks. Just go to NIBL or Machhapuchhre Bank and load funds through cash deposit.
  • How to load via cash deposit?
    To load your fund via cash deposit, follow these steps:
    Ask for the Khalti cash deposit voucher from your nearest branch of NIBL or Machhapuchhre Bank
    Fill up the voucher with the phone number and name registered with Khalti
    While submitting the voucher, tell the bank teller to enter the Upay ID 13-002 in their systems as mentioned in the voucher
  • What necessary information do I need to fill the cash deposit voucher?
    You need to have following information to fill the cash deposit voucher:
    Khalti ID ( Phone number registered with Khalti )
    Customer’s name ( Your name registered with Khalti )
    Write your amount that you want deposit in your wallet
  • What should I do after filling the cash voucher?
    After filling the cash deposit voucher, tell the bank teller to enter the Upay ID 13-002 in their systems as mentioned in the voucher
  • How do I check if my cash has been deposited?
    Go to your account and check the amount in the left side menu. Refresh if the amount you loaded is not reflected in your account.
  • Can I load fund in my wallet through other banks via cash deposits ?
    No. You can ONLY load your fund from NIBL/MBL banks of Khalti
  • Can I load fund in my wallet through other banks ?
    No. You can ONLY load your fund from the member banks of Khalti Can I go to any branch of NIBL and Machhapuchhre to load fund via Cash Deposits in my wallet? Yes. You can go to any branch of NIBL and Machhapuchhre Bank.
  • Can I load fund in my wallet anytime?
    Yes. You can load your fund anytime anywhere in Khalti. Do I need to have bank account to load fund in my wallet? No. You don’t need bank account to load fund in your wallet. You can do it via cash deposit voucher and any Kiosk machine.

Send / Request


  • How do I get to know if someone has requested me for funds?
    You will get notifications if someone has requested you for funds. You can also check the notification from the bell icon located on the top right corner of the screen.
  • How do I request funds from my friends?
    You can simply tap on Request option from the main dashboard or the side menu bar. Enter the number of your friend registered with Khalti (or simply select from your contact list) , enter amount and tap on Send. Your funds will be sent instantly
  • My friend sent me funds but the amount does not reflect in my account. Why?
    For the amount to reflect in the account you must accept the fund transfer request sent by your friend. After you have accepted the request the balance will reflect in the account.
  • What if I send money to someone else’s number?
    Please check the number before loading. Once you have loaded, Khalti will not be held responsible for the refund. You will have to contact the person yourself and get it refunded.
  • What if I have loaded money in a Khalti account that does not exist?
    In such cases Khalti will not be able to refund the money. You will have to create a Khalti account with the same number in which you loaded money. Once you have done so your money will be reflected in the new Khalti account and you can then transfer the fund to your own Khalti account.

Kiosk


  • How to load amount in Kiosk?
    To load fund in your wallet via Kiosk machine, follow these steps:
    Select the “Khalti” option in the home screen from your ‘Wallet Top Up’ option from nearest Kiosk machine
    Enter your phone number as per registered in Khalti
    Enter your amount one by one ( one note at a time ) and then take the bill from the machine
  • What if I don’t load amount one by one?
    The machine will not be able to read and accept the amount if you don’t load amount one by one and your transaction will be failed. Your money might get stuck in the machine in such cases
  • How much amount can I load in my wallet via Kiosk?
    You can load up to Rs. 10,000 in your wallet via Kiosk machine.
  • What is the limited amount I can load via Kiosk?
    You can load minimum Rs. 100 in your Kiosk machine.
  • When will the amount be transferred to my wallet after loading from Kiosk?
    Your money will be instantly delivered to your wallet after loading from Kiosk. However it might get delayed sometimes due to network issue of the machine. Do not panic in such cases. Contact the vendor. You can see the contact details on the machine itself from which you are trying to load and mention them the address
  • After I have inserted the money in the Kiosk machine I got a message saying ‘Failure’. What do I do and whom do I contact?
    In such cases you must contact the vendor. You can see the contact details on the machine itself from which you are trying to load and mention them the address
  • I went to load money via Kiosk machine but I did not find Khalti option in the Wallet top up option
    In such case do contact us at 9802005017/ 01-5010651 or mail us at support@khalti.com and report us about the issue. We will contact the vendor and will get it sorted!
  • What if I send money to someone else’s number?
